Obituary
Doris A. Sloan 85, of St. Augustine IL, passed away on February 1, 2022 at St. Mary Medical Center at 7:08 am. She was born on July 7, 1936 the daughter of Ira and Faye Bolen in Marietta IL. She married Herbert Sloan on January 28, 1952. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2013.
Doris is survived by her children Joyce Sloan of St. Augustine, Randy (Cindy) Sloan of Bessie OK, Shelly (Ray) Adcox of Clinton OK, Andy (Brenda) Sloan of Elk City OK, 6 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her siblings, daughter Marilyn, son Richard, grandson Randall, and granddaughter Alicia.
She worked at Galesburg Research Hospital as an aid she also worked at Zeller in Bartonville. She liked to sew, knit and crochet. She was an animal lover.
Burial was held in Avon Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held sometime in April. Memorials may be made to the Knox County Humane Society. Online condolences may be made at www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com Wise Family Funeral Home, Avon is in charge of arrangements.
