Virginia R. (Queen) Schriner, 83, of Galesburg, IL passed away Monday January 29, 2018, 4:05 p.m. at the Marigold Rehab and Health Care Center Galesburg, IL. She was born on Sunday September 2, 1934 in Battle Creek, MI the daughter of Gerald and Jerusha (Fritz) Nice. She married Gerald R. Queen on July 24, 1955, he preceded her on November 29, 1981. She later married John Schriner on September 2, 1992, he also preceded her in death.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children Pamela R. Queen of Galesburg, IL, Janice L. Boyer of Monmouth, IL, Bruce A. Queen of Bartonville, IL and Danny R. Queen of Salina, KS; one brother David E. Nice of Battle Creek, MI; her stepchildren Kathryn Braun of Lowpoint, IL, Belinda Frederickson of Metamora, IL, and Scott Schriner of Washington, IL; 4 grandchildren several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and 1 sister.
She was a past member of the Galesburg American Federation of Musicians #178. She was the pianist for a dance combo group called the Melody Makers and Ed’s All Stars of Galesburg for several years. She was also a member of the Mothers of Twins Club “M.O.T.C.” for years. She accompanied Monmouth Jr. High Students at the Solo & Ensemble Contests. Virginia was an activity assistant for Marigold Health Care Center for a few years. She played piano for jam sessions at the Galesburg Moose Lodge for several years. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, knitting, crocheting, puzzle books, sewing and playing piano.
Graveside service will be Thursday February 1, 2018 11:00 a.m. at the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery in Monmouth, IL.
